Title
Proposal for "Command Operation" in Cuba
Subject
Bay of Pigs
Description
Adviser and speechwriter Richard Goodwin urges Kennedy to appoint the Attorney General (Robert F. Kennedy) to command an operation to undermine and remove Fidel Castro from power. The memorandum shows the secrecy that prevaded the Kennedy administration. "Trust No One" seemed to be the motto of Kennedy's closest advisors. Often, even Kennedy would be kept out of the loop.
